ALERT ATTENTION ⚠️
Scheduled maintenance on May 16th, at 4:30 AM UTC, may cause intermittent search issues on the iLab Help Site for up to 30 minutes. Other features will remain unaffected.
If you have any questions about using iLabs or scheduling time on the equipment, contact the staff at the EM Center. Equipment can be booked up to two week in advance. Novice users can book the equipment between the hours of 9am - 4pm. Advanced users can book the microscope outside of these hours.
There are minimum and maximum amounts of time that the micrsocope can be used, if you need more or less time, contact the staff at the EM Center. The minimum/maximum allowable time per day for the JEOL SEM and the Zeiss SEM is 30 minutes to 180 minutes. The minimum/maximum time for the Hitachi TEM is 45 minutes to 180 minutes. Users of the Hitachi TEM must schedule their time at least 12 hours in advance.
It is up to the user to cancel their time if they cannot make their appointment; there is no charge for cancelling your time, but users will be charged for the time they have booked on iLabs. Scheduled time can be cancelled up to 15 minutes in advance. For example, if your booked time is from 9am-11am, the scheduled time can be cancelled anytime before 8:45am. If you find that you do not need the entire scheduled time, you can cancel the remainder of your time up to 15 minutes in advance. Please don't take advantage of cancelling your scheduled time.
